SHENZHEN, China, April 20, 2020 -- EDAN's F9 Series Fetal & Maternal Monitor have been officially CareAware® Validated. This validation makes the F9 Series Fetal & Maternal Monitor compatible with electronic health records (EHRs) leveraging the Cerner CareAware iBus® for medical device connectivity.
The CareAware iBus is electronic health record (EHR) agnostic. The solution enables interoperability between medical devices, health care applications and the EHR, regardless of EHR vendor. The solution allows for connectivity to assist providers in delivering high quality care.
“We have noticed the demand to connect our devices to third-party EHR providers,” EDAN’s UK Manager Cliff Juby said, “EDAN will continuously work with Cerner and other EHR vendors to connect EDAN’s devices to EHRs to help clinical staff pursue efficiency and work towards the reduction of clinical workload.”
The F9 Series are able to integrate with the Cerner CareAware FetaLink, allowing for information to flow between the solutions. This integration assists providers by making it easier to access information by reducing the amount of needed data transcription. Reducing the need for data transcription also reduces the opportunities for transcription errors.
As a leading medical device manufacturer, EDAN understands that caregivers are under constant pressure to help increase efficiency and safety, perform accurate and timely diagnosis and provide rapid treatment and high-quality care. The provision of data from medical devices integrated to the patient record helps inform the decision making of clinical and nursing staff, in an effort to increase efficiency. Our goal is to help data flow smoothly and help caregivers increase productivity and deliver comprehensive care.
Cerner and Edan intend to continue working together to expand EDAN’S portfolio of CareAware Validated devices.
